About CJC Labs Ltd - Experts in Scientific Flow Measurement

About us

CJC Labs was founded by Prof Charles Banks to help and support those involved in research and development on the anaerobic digestion process. The company makes small-scale biogas systems based on those which have been tried and tested extensively in his research laboratories. We have redesigned some elements of these to take advantage of state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques and precision engineering, and produce an attractive and reliable product that meets your research and quality assurance needs.

Some of the best experts in the field have helped us to improve the designs and develop software for data management and interpretation. We have also listened to you, the user, in making our systems easy to operate, adaptable to the needs of a small company and expandable to the demands of a commercial testing facility. We bring a wealth of international experience which over the years has helped to establish anaerobic digestion as a key industrial second-generation renewable energy technology, and one of the preferred options for organic solid waste management.

Our equipment can be configured to test the Biochemical Methane Potential (BMP) of different types of feedstock and the Residual Biogas Potential (RBP) of digestates. It is equally useful as a research tool or to develop improved monitoring, testing and control strategies. We also offer a range of larger bio-digesters manufactured in stainless steel which can be used for continuous or semi-continuous feeding in laboratory and pilot-scale experiments.
